2018 Annual Crestmont Cleanup with the VRCA

THIS SUNDAY JUNE 24th 9:00am – 1:30pm

Hey Crestmont & Valley Ridge, it is that time of year again where we all get together and clean up our communities.  This year, the Valley Ridge Community Association will be helping us put on the event so we welcome all the Valley Ridge residents as well.

This is a great opportunity for all of us to clean up our garages and yards and also help out by cleaning up the green spaces around our communities.  We will have garbage bags, gloves and pick-up sticks available for everyone to use.  Please grab your family and come down to help out.  We live in beautiful communities and it is up to us all to keep them clean and tidy.  For volunteers that help out we have lots of food, snacks and drinks to keep you fueled up, and for the families we have a scavenger hunt with prizes!!!

Just a few important details…

What we can take:

  • Typical garbage
  • Metal
  • Electronics
  • Bicycles
  • Yard waste

What we CANNOT take:

  • Propane and helium tanks
  • Paint, fuels and chemicals
  • Tires
  • Anything dangerous.

If you have any paint or chemicals you can take them to participating fire stations or landfill sites.

The Women In Need organization will be there to take items that are not ready for the garbage as well.

Please join us at the Crestmont Hall and please be careful and respectful to everyone!!!

Neighbour Day Canada 150 Party Eh?

Last year we had our first Neighbour Day block party and it was a huge success.

THIS year we are going BIGGER!  In celebration of Canada’s 150 Birthday we are going to have a party that William Lyon Mackenzie King could be proud of.

Join us on June 17th, 1pm – 3pm Rain or Shine to celebrate Canada and all things neighbourly.  The location is the west end of the stormwater pond by the emergency access road at the bottom of the 500 block of Cresthaven Place.

Thanks to generous donations from the following organizations, there will be live music, food, beverages, a bouncy house, along with fun & games galore.

You may wish to bring a lawn chair or a blanket to sit on.

Thank you to:

PLEASE R.S.V.P.

We need you to RSVP so we can be sure to have enough food and drinks for everyone.  If you do not RSVP there is a chance that you may not be able to partake in the food & drink.

AGM Friday March 24

In addition there was a significant amount of work accomplished on your behalf by the development committee.

Please consider throwing your hat in and volunteering for us this coming year.  All board positions are always open at every year’s AGM.  This year we are looking for a Secretary and a brand new position to be filled that we are calling “Event Coordinator”.

If you have ever wanted to give back and add some valuable board experience to your resume, please consider joining us on March 24th.  For more information on being a board member, or just volunteering in general, please contact us.  We look forward to another wonderful year and you are all a major part of our success.

Development Committee Presentation

At this year’s AGM you won’t want to miss the development committee‘s update.  Did you know that there are several major development projects going on around Crestmont that directly impact you as a homeowner?  We have updates and information on all of them.

We will also have snacks and plenty of information to share so please join us!  Check back here as we get closer to the end of march for any updates.

Crestmont Kids Council

We invite Crestmont kids ages 13 – 17 to join the first ever Crestmont Kids Council (CKC).  This is a great opportunity to learn new skills, get some great experience for your resume, and give back to your community while providing a voice for the youth in the community.  Come to the AGM and throw your name it for the CKC.

Thank you,
Al Del Degan, CCA President

CCA & VRCA Multi-Community Garage Sale on May 28th

Stuff for SaleHave you ever noticed that your junk is “stuff” and everyone else’s stuff is “junk”?  Well get the stuff that you no longer need, and instead of making it into actual junk, sell it to someone else so it can be their stuff instead!

On May 28th, the Crestmont Community Association is joining forces with the Valley Ridge Community Association to put together a MASSIVE multi-community garage sale.  The garage sale will run from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm and will be advertised in the Calgary Herald, the Valley Breeze and the Crestmont Courier.

Maps of both communities with all participating homes will be made available prior to the garage sale at the Crestmont Hall as well as the Valley Ridge gas station, pharmacy, liquor store, Van Gogh’s, and Kijiji. To have your home added to the list, and make some money on your spring cleaning, please visit www.crestmontcommunity.org/events-calendar/garage-sale-application/. “Seal Your Community Support” – CCA Fundraiser

Tupperware PhotoCrestmont Cares – Show your Support

The Crestmont Community Association (CCA) cares about keeping our community informed.  In efforts to increase our communications with residents of Crestmont, we are fundraising for a communication board.  Our wish is to raise enough money for a permanent electronic sign in front of the hall that will allow us to communicate more effectively with the community.  This will also save us hundreds of dollars a year in rental expenses that we currently pay to rent these signs.

The CCA has had the amazing opportunity to partner with one of the leading direct sellers on the market, Tupperware Brands, to kick off our first community fundraiser!  This is a fantastic opportunity for you to do all your holiday shopping from the comforts of your home, and support your community at the same time.

Please help us achieve our goal in the next two weeks by buying some great Tupperware product and spreading the word about our fundraiser.

“Seal Your Community Support” – CCA Fundraiser

You can help in three ways:

  1. Order some fantastic new Tupperware for yourself or to give away with the upcoming holiday season approaching!  Remember – 40% of the sale will go directly back into the CCA! 2. Send an email to everyone that you know, spreading the word that we are holding a Tupperware Fundraiser.  Please invite everyone that you know so we can make this Fundraiser as big of a success as we can!  SHARE this link on your Facebook account with all your friends.
  3. Book a Tupperware Party ($20 will go to the CCA once you date & hold your party!)  Please contact whipituptupperware@outlook.com or call 403.466.5257 to book your party.
