The City of Calgary will be hosting an Open House for the Shape, Loblaws and Qualico outline plan and land use applications on March 27 from 5-8 at the Montgomery Community Association.
The three developers will have their presentation materials at the open house along with The City.

Childsplace
We are licensed by Calgary Rocky View Child and Family Services. To maintain this license, Child Care Services Licensing Officers, Calgary Regional Health Authority, Public Health Inspectors, and the Calgary Fire Department inspect us regularly. We are required by Licensing to hold valid First Aid Certificates, conduct Calgary Police Service security checks on all staff, meet teacher – child ratios, and provide quality age-appropriate programming for the children enrolled in our school. This is a smoke free environment and at no time any person or staff members will smoke where child care is provided.
The philosophy at Childsplace Learning Centre Crestmont Ltd. is “Children Learn by Doing”. A child’s play becomes his work, and should be taken just as seriously as an adult’s. By providing a safe environment and a rich variety of activities, we can create a rewarding and valuable learning experience for young children that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. Through Childsplace, we hope to enhance the learning opportunities of children and parents alike.

Thank you to everyone that came out to the Crestmont Community Association Annual General Meeting on Sunday March 18th. Also a very special thank you to Mira from the Servus Credit Union (Bowness Branch) who came by with coffee, tea, and cookies for everyone. She also lent a hand as an impartial auditor of the voting ballots and generally brightened the Crestmont Hall with her amazing smile.

That time has come again for the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Crestmont Community Association. All the board positions are open so if you are interested in volunteering to get involved in your community, please come and check out what we have to say.
The meeting will be at the Crestmont Resident’s Hall on March 18th from 2pm – 4pm. All Crestmont Community Association members in good standing will be able to vote in the election of the new board for 2012/2013. Memberships ($20 / year) will be available at the meeting so please come early to sign up.

Hey everyone, the Crestmont Community Association is holding our 2nd ever Annual General Meeting. Please make sure you come out to sign up for, or renew your membership as well as consider volunteering for this great organization. We have worked very hard over this last year to put the building blocks in place for us to go forward and make a significant difference in our amazing community.
We can’t do it alone though, we need your help. Please attend the AGM at the Crestmont Hall on March 16th beginning at 7:00pm. All the board positions are open so we are very interested in your participation and getting some fresh ideas to help us make 2011 another great year for our community. We received a visit from Alana DeLong at our last Crestmont Community Association board meeting (The third Wednesday of every month at the Crestmont Hall starting at 7pm) and she had a lot of great information to share with some good advice and answers to our questions. We want to pass along a link to the Legislature Report we received from her in case you have not yet seen it. As a Crestmont or Valley Ridge resident, you may find some of it interesting.
For over 10 years, a community of treasure hunters has silently been growing throughout the world. “What kind of treasure” you ask? Many things, wonderful things. This exciting idea is called Geocaching and it is gaining in popularity with the large number of smart phones with GPS capability available now-a-days.
Geocaching is a really fun form of high-tech scavenger hunt. You log on to a website (http://www.geocaching.com) and create an account for no cost. You can search for a location on earth and it will come back with the geographic locations of all the geocaches in that area. A search on Crestmont shows that there are 15 within 1 mile of the community with a handful right in our community. Once you pick a geocache that interests you, punch the coordinates into your GPS/Smart Phone, and head out to find it.
This is a fun hobby that the whole family can do, and it gets you all out of the house and being active. Some of the geocaches are easy to find and some are very difficult. Many people are very creative and have custom built a secret container for a log that you can sign to show that you found the geocache. You are also welcome to create a new geocache of your own and add it to the website for others to find.

The Crestmont Community Assocation has regular Board Meetings on the third Thursday of every month. You are welcome to attend the board meetings and are encouraged to volunteer with the organization. Please send an email to volunteer@crestmontcommunity.org if you would like to attend a board meeting, or if you would like to become a volunteer.
We will be holding our Annual General Meeting on Wednesday March 16th, from 7pm – 9pm and we urge you to come out and support the organization. All board positions are open and it will be great to have some fresh ideas to help take the organization into it’s second year of formal operation.
