New Doggie Poop Bag Dispensers
In the past, doggie doo has been a major issue around Crestmont. Your friendly neighbourhood Crestmont Community Association has come up with and idea that we hope will help to address the issue.
We have designed, built, and installed EIGHT custom doggie poop bag dispensers throughout Crestmont. The doggie bags inside have been generously donated by Scott Brayshaw – RE/MAX Real Estate (Central) so please thank him when you see him. Here are the install locations…
Every one of the eight dispensers is installed just below the blue “RUFF, RUFF, RUFF!” signs that Qualico has installed at appropriate places in the community.
We need your help! Please pick up after your pet. Now, if you happen to have left your house and forgot your doggie poop bags, we got your back. Feel free to pull a couple bags from the dispenser and do your doggie parent’s duty.
Also, each of the eight dispensers has a black number on the side of it. If you notice that one is running low on bags, or there is something wrong with it, please let us know by emailing support@crestmontcommunity.org and note the dispenser number on the side. We will do our best to address the issue promptly.
If you find that the dispenser is at the end of a roll, and you can’t seem to get a new bag free, the lid opens and the plexiglass slides up to give you more room to navigate the rolls inside. Just be careful all the rolls don’t come tumbling out when you lift the plexiglass up.
If everyone does their part, we can keep Crestmont free of doggie doo, and ensure that our community is clean and a pleasure to walk around and enjoy.
Thank You!

CCA VS CHOA
The Crestmont Community Association and the Crestmont Homeowners Association are two associations currently operating in Crestmont. The two entities are totally separate from one another, and have no overlap whatsoever.
The Community Association serves to create a sense of community and belonging. We are a dedicated group of volunteers, who liaise with all three levels of government, deal with resident concerns, respond to development permit applications, and hold events. We are supported mainly via sponsorships, donations, and grants, and membership is voluntary. Our membership is $25/year for each household which grants access to all events and board meetings. We throw three community events, Neighbour Day in June, Kids’ Day in September, and a Halloween party the Sunday before Halloween. We are a supportive group, always happy to have new volunteers come in and try out board positions, learn new roles, and take a larger part in deciding what happens in Crestmont. We welcome your questions and concerns to info@crestmontcommunity.org.
The HOA is a compulsory membership, an instrument is registered on each property title in Crestmont. The HOA is responsible to maintain our community amenities, including the hall, spray park, tot lot, and fire pit. The HOA is not responsible for anything outside of their own envelope of property. The HOA board is currently controlled by Qualico Communities, who has plans to turn the board over to Crestmont residents at some point in the future. No information has been provided to the CCA regarding the official turnover strategy. The HOA can be reached via CrestmontHall@shaw.com or by emailing their property manager ajohson@ranchogroup.com.
All other public land in Crestmont is under the maintenance of the City of Calgary, or under the control of Qualico Communities. If you have a concern about areas outside the purview of the HOA, 311 is your best bet. Reports can be made online by searching Calgary 311 or dialing 311 from your telephone.
