Varsity Acres School is a K-6 French Immersion school, serving 16 communities in northwest Calgary.  At Varsity Acres School, we are in our second year of a 3 year plan looking at ways to enhance teaching and learning in the area of math. We celebrated some of our work at a recent school council meeting and we received very encouraging, positive feedback.

At this time, we are looking ahead to December and our Winter Celebration being held the evening of Thursday December 8th from 7:00-8:30pm. This year our approach is to invite parents and the community in to our school to enjoy and share in the joys of learning. Also in December, our division 2 students are headed to Canada Olympic Park for 4 days of skiing. Bring on the snow!
Looking ahead to January 2012, we will be holding our open house for parents new to kindergarten or who may have a child entering grade 1 French Immersion for September 2012. Our information night will be held Thursday January 12th at 7:00pm. Registration for kindergarten begins Monday January 16th 2012. The office will be open for registrations beginning at 8:00am and will be open each day thereafter between 8:00am and 3:30pm. If your child turns 4 on or before March 1st 2012, they are eligible to register in a Calgary Board of Education kindergarten program. We look forward to seeing new families on the 12th of January.
